Delta varsity's accreditation not withdrawn - Mgt
The
Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has denied reports in a
national daily that there is palpable tension in DELSU over alleged
withdrawal of its accreditation, adding that the publication was
alarmist and designed to create confusion in the institution.
In
a statement by the office of the Vice Chancellor, the institution’s
management said that accreditation of programmes by National
Universities Commission (NUC) is a laudable and an on-going exercise
which does not carry a note of finality.
It
added that those who commented on the issue and other sources of its
information are not qualified to speak on such management issues. It
further explained that the university was working assiduously to put
structures and facilities in place for the accreditation of its Law and
Engineering programmes, while saying that the management has directed
students to go about their academic activities peacefully.
